Hailing from Brighton, England, a cosmopolitan city nestled on the southern shores between the cool waves of the English Channel and the rolling green hills of the South Downs, Ceri Bethan is the perfect product of her British upbringing. A delightful mix of city smarts and country wilds, well-spoken and elegant, this English rose quickly turned heads in the British entertainment industry with her delicate beauty and beguiling talent, before the USA turned hers, and after a lot of hard work (and paper work!) she made the move across the Atlantic, where she now calls Los Angeles home.

A natural lover of all things dramatic, Ceri’s passion for acting was first ignited during early performances with her older sister, carefully planned and enacted  in front of the living room fireplace for their parents. It was through her sister’s bossiness that she first learnt to take direction and critique, and her parents enthused applause that sowed the seed to search for a bigger stage. And this she did, when Ceri was cast as Cinderella in a local children’s stage production at the tender age of seven. Her first professional role came just four years later, when Ceri was cast in a production of Puccini’s La Boheme with the prestigious Glyndebourne’s Touring Opera Company when she was just eleven years old.

Years of honing her craft then followed, with Ceri studying drama all throughout her educational career. She continued to act professionally whilst in high school, and made her big screen debut in the highly praised Indie film The Big Finish alongside Kevin Bishop. After graduating from high school, Ceri went on to study a degree in Drama from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and was then offered a highly coveted place at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Whilst living in New York City, Ceri was spotted by several agents, and encouraged to consider making her move to the USA permanent.

Despite not knowing a single soul, Ceri made the brave decision to follow her dreams full tilt, and with just a suitcase of belongings and a steadfast determination to succeed, she made Los Angeles her home in 2008. Thriving on the adventure of her new surroundings, she threw herself into the acting world, and was taken on by several respected acting coaches, including Ivana Chubbuck, who has helped stars such as Halle Berry and Brad Pitt hone their craft. Ceri now trains with Warner Loughlin, acting coach to Amy Adams and Ryan Reynolds, among others.

As she settled into her new life, Ceri continued to grow and develop as an actor, and secured several small roles in Indie films and commercials. Then, following her successful application for a US Green Card, Ceri was able to amp up her auditions, and was quickly cast in two new movies alongside some of Hollywood’s hottest rising stars. In 2014, Ceri can be seen opposite Chad Michael Murray and Skylar Astin in the new comedy Cavemen, and playing Brooklyn Decker’s best friend in the romantic comedy Casual Encounters, alongside Taran Killam and David Arquette.

In 2013 Ceri set up her own production company, Four Rose Productions, and produced a new play for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It was a brand new play titled Double Bind, written by Blake Abramovitz, which premiered at Theatre Asylum. Ceri also starred as the female lead opposite Blake Shields and Clark Freeman. It proved that Ceri was more than just an actress, and she excelled in her role as producer, sparking rave reviews from the media and audiences alike. The play was a huge success, winning awards for best writer and the prestigious Best of Fringe Award.

Inspired by Meryl Streep, Audrey Hepburn, Jane Goodall and Amanda de Cadenet, Ceri hopes to build on her success, and combine her love of acting with her passion for activism. She is currently working on her second project with Right Mistake Productions, producing a short film for the VDAY campaign founded by the playwright Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues) and One Billion Rising; a global movement to end violence towards women.

When not on set – both in front and behind the camera, Ceri can be found hiking the trails of Hollywood with her rescue pup, Bella, or working on her mind and body at Modo Yoga. A long-term vegetarian, Ceri also studies health and wellbeing in her own time, and intends to gain qualifications in psychology, NVC and meditation for children to bring balance to her career. Extremely well-traveled, Ceri also hopes to make her third visit to India soon, where she will continue her support for a local animal charity in the southern state of Goa, and also to return to Europe to visit family in both England and France.
