I was recently interviewed by Chulo magazine for their September issue, which was a lot of fun to do. We chatted about my forthcoming movies, Chasing the Past and Casual Encounters, and what I’ve been up to since making the move out to Los Angeles. Click on the images below to view the pages at full resolution and read the interview.

I had a wonderful time attending the BAFTA LA Garden Party on Sunday. Held at the British Consul General’s Residence, it was a glorious afternoon spent enjoying champagne, tea, scones, and the company of friends – including my good friend and mentor, Nigel Daly, Chairman of BAFTA LA.

I wore a beautiful 1970’s vintage gown from Hope & Harlequin, my favourite place to shop back in my hometown of Brighton, England. This was accessorised with a vintage 1930’s brooch from the same store, and pale blue suede shoes from Zara.

Huge thanks go to my stylist, Hannah Loaring, and everyone at BAFTA LA for yet another memorable event.

On a beautiful sunny LA afternoon I headed out to Franklin Canyon reservoir with director Jonathan Salemi to film a interview featurette for the short film I am starring in, Chasing the Past. It was fun to talk about the process of filming and to reminisce about the days on set. The film premieres on Saturday, April 12th at the AMC in Boston as part of the Boston International Film Festival (BIFF). I have never been to Boston before and am very excited to head out there to support the movie. I will also be in attendance at the opening night gala on Friday, April 11th.

I was recently asked to take part in a photo shoot for L’Ermitage Hotels in Beverly Hills. It was a great day spent sipping champagne and enjoying the beautiful LA sunshine with my faux-husband for the day, the hilarious and handsome Aussie comedian, Monty Franklin. It’s a wonderful hotel with stunning views of LA and the Hollywood hills, and I always love spending time there. Here are a few shots from the day.

Earlier this month saw the premiere of my latest movie, Cavemen. I’ve already written about the event, but thought I would also share these short videos my publicist, Liz Rodriguez at EMR Media, came across. It’s a fun insight into what it’s really like to walk the red carpet!

It’s here! The finished video! I am so happy to share with you all the short piece I produced for the V-Day campaign, One Billion Rising. V-Day is a global movement to end violence towards women and girls, established by the playwright Eve Ensler in 1998. Today, on February 14th, the One Billion Rising movement calls to women and men across the world to raise awareness, spread the word, shake the earth and #Rise4Justice.

A cinematic interpretation of Eve Ensler’s poem ‘Rising’, this piece was filmed by Natalie Irby of Corner to Corner Productions, and features raw and impassioned performances by Tiffany Dorn, Lamorna Watts, Jamie Lee Williams, Laura Beth Hill, Brooklin Beisner, Kat McCleary, Erika Tai, Lisa-Maria Long, Michelle Cardno, Ruth Gibson, McKenzie Brodnick, Tommee May, Sophie Askew, Caity Brodnick, Veronica Gouveia, Melissa Balridge, and Kenton Remmey.

I am so grateful to everyone who helped bring this piece to life, and to be able to play a small role in raising awareness of this vital campaign. I hope you will all watch and feel moved by the video, and ask you to please spread the word by sharing it with everyone you know. Together we truly can change the world.

Today we ventured out to El Matador beach, Malibu to shoot some scenes for the short film I am producing with my company, Right Mistake Productions, to promote the One Billion Rising Campaign. The piece is taking on a beautiful shape and is heading in directions I never anticipated. I am truly happy with the progress thus far and cannot wait for the finished product. I look forward to sharing it with everyone and I hope we can help raise awareness of the violence towards women that continues to happen across the world. The RISING movement resonates deeply with me, and I am so moved by everyone’s support for this project. It is empowering to stand with these women as we rise for justice with women across the world.

Cavemen is here! My latest movie is now showing in theatres nationwide, and is also available on demand. I had a fantastic time at the premiere, where I channeled Lady Mary of Downton Abbey in a vintage dress from a delightful little store called Hope and Harlequin in my hometown of Brighton, England. I also wore a vintage brooch in my hair from the same store, and my shoes were by Zara. This look was once again styled by my lovely sister Hannah Loaring. Photographs are available courtesy of Wire Image and Getty Images

Yesterday I had the honor of attending the Mulberry sponsored BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party, hosted at the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills.

The annual event recognises the very best in filmmaking, and is always wonderfully relaxed and fun. As well as honoring the year’s nominees and winners, the Tea Party also raised awareness of the BAFTA Community Outreach and Philanthropic programs including their Heritage Archive and Inner City Cinema programs.

Some of the other BAFTA members in attendance included Sandra Bullock, Martin Scorsese, Leonard DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hanks, and Benedict Cumberbatch, among many others.

For the event I wore a beautiful vintage 1930s gown, vintage pearl earrings, Manolo Blahnik shoes, and carried a Mulberry purse, all styled by Hannah Loaring.

I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly congratulate my mentor and friend, Nigel Daly, on becoming chairman of BAFTA Los Angeles, which was announced at the event! Well done indeed Nigel, it is very well deserved.
